چکیده

In this paper, we successfully synthesize Fe(OH)(3) nanotubes involving the Kirkendall effect. Depending on the calcination conditions, both haematite and magnetite nanotubes are produced. This approach also provides a new synthetic alternative to nanotubes of nonlamellar-structured materials. The as-synthesized magnetite nanotubes have an application as a magnetic resonance imaging contrast agent.

Formation of nanotubes and hollow nanoparticles based on Kirkendall and diffusion processes: a review.

The Kirkendall effect is a consequence of the different diffusivities of atoms in a diffusion couple causing a supersaturation of lattice vacancies. This supersaturation may lead to a condensation of extra vacancies in the form of so-called "Kirkendall voids" close to the interface. On the macroscopic and micrometer scale these Kirkendall voids are generally considered as a nuisance because the...

Large scale highly crystalline Bi2Te3 nanotubes through solution phase nanoscale Kirkendall effect fabrication.

We have successfully developed an ethylene glycol mediated solution phase method for synthesizing highly crystalline Bi(2)Te(3) nanotubes using Te nanowires as the in situ templates; our work demonstrates the generic feature of a solution phase mediated Kirkendall effect for the synthesis of not only hollow nanoparticles but also highly crystalline tubular structures.

Morphology-directed synthesis of Co3O4 nanotubes based on modified Kirkendall effect and its application in CH4 combustion.

We reported the morphology-directed synthesis of Co(3)O(4) nanotubes via interfacial reaction of NaOH with pre-fabricated CoC(2)O(4)·2H(2)O nanorods based on modified Kirkendall effect. The as-obtained Co(3)O(4) nanotubes showed excellent activity and durability in catalytic combustion of CH(4).

Fabrication of a Selective and Sensitive Electrochemical Sensor Modified with Magnetic Molecularly Imprinted Polymer for Amoxicillin

A modified electrochemical sensor for the determination of amoxicillin (AMX) was reported in this paper. The magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) were suspended in AMX solution and then collected on the surface of a magnetic carbon paste electrode (CPE) via a permanent magnet, situated within the carbon paste electrode and then the voltammetry signals were recorded. It was confirmed th...
